Jason Booth says victory in his world title tussle with Steve Molitor would be as dramatic as a Hollywood film.
The 32-year-old, who has fought a well-documented and successful battle with alcohol, contests the IBF super-bantamweight crown on Saturday.
He told BBC East Midlands Today: "I've been given a second chance and not many people get a second chance in sport.
"I never dreamed I'd be fighting for a world title. If I win it it will be like a Hollywood story."
Booth, from Nottingham, is determined to seize his chance when he goes toe-to-toe with Molitor in Sunderland.
"This is the most important fight of my life," he added.
"This could change my life if I win so I have to give it my best shot.
"Everyone knows I hit rock bottom but what me worse made me better in the end."
