In his last start, Nelson Figueroa could have helped the Houston Astros' starters set a team record for consecutive games without a loss.

In Thursday's series finale against the host Washington Nationals, the right-hander will try to help the Astros avoid their first three-game losing streak in more than a month.
Claimed off waivers in July, Figueroa (5-3, 3.51 ERA) is 2-2 with a 3.65 ERA in seven starts since coming out of the bullpen in his first eight appearances for the Astros (73-79).
Looking to win his third straight decision, the right-hander yielded five runs -- three earned -- and seven hits over 4 1/3 innings of Saturday's 11-1 loss to Cincinnati. Figueroa's outing snapped a franchise record-tying 17-game stretch without a loss by an Astros starter.
"It's frustrating when your pitch count is going up and you feel like you're making good pitches and you battle and get outs," Figueroa told the Astros' official web site following his 104-pitch outing.
